Packard Museum: Biker-Bound

The National Packard Museum is hosting two motorcycle-related events this week.

On Saturday at 12:30 p.m., Tom Banks and Sean Jackson will speak about their experience riding a 1920 J Harley-Davidson in the 2025 Trans American motorcycle race, a 4,000-mile journey across the United States. They will discuss the challenges of the race and share stories from the trip. This program is included with regular museum admission.

The museum will also hold its annual motorcycle movie night on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The featured film, “Rabbit’s Tales: A Tribute to Larry ‘Rabbit’ Smith,” honors a longtime Youngstown motorcyclist.

Tickets are $10, and proceeds will benefit the museum.

The Cleaning Schedule Most Homeowners Wish They Knew Sooner

Let’s be honest… most of us either clean too much of the wrong stuff or ignore things until they’re gross. Here’s the simple, realistic breakdown the pros follow 👇

☀️ DAILY (5–20 minute reset)

Keep germs + clutter from snowballing.

• Wipe kitchen counters & stove
• Quick bathroom sink + toilet check
• Load/unload dishwasher
• Make beds
• Tidy high-traffic areas
• Quick floor sweep where needed

🧽 WEEKLY (The “home feels fresh again” clean)

Stops grime from settling in.

• Vacuum carpets & rugs
• Mop hard floors
• Scrub showers & tubs
• Sanitize toilets + mirrors
• Change bed sheets
• Wipe appliance fronts + cabinet faces

🗓 MONTHLY (The stuff most people forget)

These are sneaky dirt collectors.

• Baseboards & window sills
• Ceiling fans & vents
• Vacuum couches & mattresses
• Clean inside refrigerator
• Light interior window cleaning
• Wash throw blankets & pillow covers

🧹 QUARTERLY (The deep reset your house secretly needs)

This is where homes go from “clean” → “like new.”

• Move furniture & clean underneath
• Clean behind appliances
• Deep oven cleaning
• Wash curtains & blinds
• Steam clean carpets or upholstery
• Pantry + closet reset

👀 The MOST Forgotten Germ Zones

(Pros notice these instantly)

• Light switches
• Door handles & frames
• Trash cans
• Remote controls
• Dishwasher filters
• Washing machine seals

💡 Real Talk:
Most homeowners can handle daily upkeep… but weekly + deep cleaning is where people usually get overwhelmed (and where homes actually stay healthier long-term).

HOUSING PEACE OF MIND

When Winter Makes Everything Feel Heavier

Winter has a way of slowing everything down. Short days, cold mornings, and a lot of time spent thinking instead of moving.

If buying or selling a home is already on your mind, this time of year can make it feel even bigger than it needs to be.

That’s where someone like Hailey Ditullio really stands out.

Hailey brings calm and clarity to the process, especially when things feel overwhelming. She helps buyers get prepared early so they’re ready when the right opportunity shows up. Sellers know their home is being handled carefully and thoughtfully, without added stress.

What people appreciate most is how supported they feel. There’s no scrambling. No guessing. Just steady guidance and clear communication from start to finish.

She’s warm, upbeat, and easy to talk to, but also incredibly responsible and organized. That balance makes a difference—especially in a season when everyone is craving a little more ease.

If you’re thinking about a move, even just quietly planning for later, Hailey is a great person to start the conversation with.

Sometimes the right next step is simply knowing who has your back.

Cold Weather Finds Weak Pipes Fast

When it’s this cold, plumbing on outside walls feels it first. Drains slow down, dishwashers don’t clear properly, and water starts sitting where it shouldn’t.

It’s not something you did wrong. It’s what extreme cold does.

If you notice things backing up or not draining like normal, getting it cleared early can prevent bigger problems as temperatures stay low.

For fast, reliable help, locals turn to 1-800-PLUMBER + Air.

When cold weather finds weak pipes, you’ll be glad you’re ready.

Youngstown locals! If you have any of these issues this week , here are the solutions:

🧊 Ice dam or glacier like structure on the side of your roof or house that may or may not cause it to rain in your bedroom.

🏡 Shivering every day when you go outside causing you to want to sell your home and move to Florida.

🧹 Sneezing because of all the dust being blown in reminding you how much you hate dusting but it still needs done regularly.

🚽 Pipes freezing or bursting from the subzero temps.

There’s so many great people in our area. We’ve got to have each others’ backs. Check on your neighbors and friends, take your time in the snow and please stay warm.

Health Corner: Good News for Bad Joints

Researchers at Stanford Medicine have developed an experimental injection that may regrow knee cartilage and help prevent arthritis. The treatment works by blocking a protein that increases with age and contributes to joint breakdown. In studies, older mice treated with the injection regenerated cartilage and showed reduced joint damage after injury. Even more promising, lab tests on human cartilage samples showed signs of new growth. While it’s still early and not yet available for patients, the discovery could shift arthritis treatment from managing pain to actually repairing joints. If future human trials succeed, this approach could dramatically reduce the need for joint replacements and offer hope for millions dealing with age-related joint degeneration.

Hair Revival:
A Reset for Thinning Hair

Microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a popular, non-surgical option for hair thinning in both women and men. The treatment uses tiny needles to create micro-channels in the scalp, which stimulates natural healing and increases blood flow to hair follicles.

PRP — made from your own blood and rich in growth factors — is then applied or injected to help wake up weakened follicles, strengthen existing hair, and encourage new growth. It’s especially helpful for early-to-moderate thinning and pattern hair loss. Most people need a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions. Results develop gradually, often showing improved thickness, reduced shedding, and healthier scalp conditions over several months.
