Federal Frenzy is Back — And It's FREE

This is the one.

The weekend downtown Youngstown becomes an actual festival city.

The 12th Annual Federal Frenzy Music & Arts Festival takes over West Federal Street on

Saturday, April 18 from 2:00pm–11:00pm — and every single bit of it is free and open to the public.

Eight stages. 20+ performances. Food trucks. Local vendors. A free pop-up skatepark from the Youngstown Skatepark Association (2pm–8pm at W. Federal & Phelps).

And closing out the main stage at 10pm: Armani White — whose song "Billie Eilish" has been streamed nearly half a billion
times on Spotify. He took six years to make it to Youngstown — and it's finally happening.

This is genuinely one of the best free events in all of Northeast Ohio. If you haven't been before, this is your year.

Parking: Free with YSU pass at the Wick Ave Parking Deck, or $5 cash. Free shuttle runs continuously from McDonough Museum of Art, 1:30–11:30pm.

A Brand-New Nonprofit Just Launched in Warren — And It's Beautiful

Something really special happened right here in the Valley last weekend.

Hearts and Hands United, founded by Jeanna Nezbeth, officially launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Bazetta Cortland Optimist Club — and it was packed.

We're talking live music, raffle baskets, 40 local vendors, and a whole lot of community love.

The mission is simple and powerful: connect families and small business owners with the financial help and community resources to keep them going.

Think of it as a community lifeline and a local marketplace rolled into one.
"This isn't just where we live — it's our home," Nezbeth said.

Future community markets will be held the second Saturday of June and November.

This is going to be something really meaningful for Trumbull County.

Keep an eye on it.

YSU Students Just Won Big — Nationally

Youngstown raised them. Youngstown should know about it.

Student journalists from The Jambar, JambarTV, and Rookery Radio at YSU just swept the Society for Collegiate Journalists 2025 National Contest — earning 5 first-place finishes, including:

Online Radio Overall Excellence — Rookery Radio

Multimedia Sports Story
coverage of YSU's National Champion bowling team

Special Coverage — Nicarlyle Hanchard & John Ostapowicz

"Our students aren't just playing the game — they are ready for the show," said faculty adviser Adam Earnheardt.

Youngstown growing talent. Youngstown winning nationally.

That's our city.

YLIVE is Coming Back — Save the Dates

Big summer news worth planting now:

YLIVE is returning — and moving back to where it all started,

YSU's Stambaugh Stadium, for a full
two-day event: July 10–11, 2026.

Lineup announcement still coming, but if last year was any indication, you'll want to clear your calendar early.

We'll have more as details drop. Stay tuned!

Health Corner: Your Allergies Are Showing Up On Your Face

(Sponsored by Skin Solution MedSpa, Boardman)

You might be taking something for the sneezing. But nobody talks about what allergy season does to your skin.

Spring allergies don't just hit your sinuses — they trigger inflammation throughout your whole body.

And your face is one of the first places it shows up:
• Puffy, swollen eyes that no amount of concealer can fully hide
• Red, reactive, irritated skin that flares even when nothing in your routine changed
• Dull, tired-looking complexion from the histamine response your body is fighting around the clock
• Under-eye bags and discoloration that get noticeably worse every April and May

Over-the-counter allergy meds help your nose.
They don't fix your face.

That's where Skin Solution MedSpa comes in. Their team can assess what's happening with your skin during allergy season and build a targeted plan — whether that's calming inflammation, treating
redness and reactivity, or addressing the puffiness and fatigue showing up around your eyes right now.

You don't have to just wait it out until June.

Half a Million Tulips —
Just Down the Road

Before the season slips away, you need to know about this.

White House Fruit Farm in Canfield is hosting their 2026 Tulip Experience right now — and it is stunning. Half a million tulip bulbs planted across scenic farm fields. Every color imaginable.

Rows upon rows of pure spring beauty.

This is the kind of thing you drive past every day and forget to actually do... until it's over. Don't let that happen this year.

It's a ticketed event and they do sell out — so grab yours now.

HAIR CORNER:
Why You’re Losing More Hair Right Now (And What To Do About It)

(Sponsored by Youngstown Head Spa)

Here's something most people don't know: spring is the season your hair naturally sheds the most.

It's not your shampoo. It's not stress (well, maybe a little).
It's biology.

Just like trees, your hair follows a seasonal cycle — and after a long winter of holding on, spring triggers a natural release.

More in your brush. More in the shower drain. More on your pillow.

For some people it's barely noticeable. For others, it's alarming.
Most people respond by buying new products, switching shampoos, or just hoping it stops.

But if the real issue is at the scalp level — buildup, poor circulation, follicles stressed from months of dry indoor air — no bottle from the store shelf is reaching it.

Youngstown Head Spa works at the root. Literally. Their deep scalp treatments clear buildup, stimulate circulation, and give your follicles the environment they need to recover and grow heading
into summer.

If your hair has been feeling thinner, weaker, or just not quite right lately — spring shedding season is the perfect time to actually do something about it.

Appointment spots are limited.

🌷 Spring Moves Are Smart Moves

(Sponsored by Hailey Ditullio — Howard Hanna)

Spring is the busiest season in real estate — and the people who come out ahead are the ones who planned before the rush, not during it.

Hailey Ditullio at Howard Hanna isn't in this to chase a commission. She's in it because she knows what it means to find the right home — the one where the backdrop of life's photos actually happens.

She came from running her own cleaning company while raising a family, studying for her license, and doing it all the right way. That kind of work ethic shows up for you when it counts.

Spring Plumbing Tip:
Check This Before You
Turn on the Hose

(Sponsored by 1-800-Plumber + Air Youngstown)

Before you hook up the garden hose, start the sprinklers, or let the kids run through the sprinklers — take two minutes to check your outdoor faucets.

A pipe that cracked quietly over winter can turn your first spring project into a flooded mess.

It happens more than you'd think, and catching it early is a whole lot cheaper than catching it late.

1-800-Plumber + Air Youngstown — locally owned by brothers Brian and Matt Barth — offers quick seasonal checks and same-day service.

They'll treat your home with care (yes, shoe covers and doormats — every time).

Curb Appeal Season is Here —
Let's Get After It

(Sponsored by All Spruced Up Cleaning Co.)

Spring has a way of revealing everything winter let slide.

The siding. The concrete. The patio. That driveway. The windows. Suddenly it's all... very visible. That same concept applies to the entrance of your home.

If you're hosting anyone this spring — or just want to feel proud the second they walk through your front door — this is the moment.

Need the inside of your home handled? All Spruced Up has you covered.

All Spruced Up handles the interior clean that changes how your whole home feels inside. Not just cleaner. Different cleaner.

First impressions count.

drive. No ticket needed. Just go.
